Since 1899 Family Service Agency of Santa Barbara has been a leading community social service agency providing sliding scale and Medi-Cal, couple, individual, child and family counseling programs and
outreach support services. Also part of a collaborative project between public and private agencies. Healthy Start Family Resource Centers in Santa Barbara are located in Adams, Harding, Mckinley, Franklin and Cleveland elementary schools to support and empower at-risk families through advocacy, case management and parent education.
Family Service Agency also provides on-site counseling to individuals, groups and families, helping them function successfully in school. School-based counseling in the Santa Barbara elementary schools, as well as Cold Spring School and La Cumbre Middle School, offers easy access to services and the unique ability to address difficult behaviors as they occur.
Also offers youth mentor/companionship programs and In-home senior services aimed at maintaining independent living. County-wide crisis intervention and suicide prevention as well as information and referral services through the 2-1-1 HelpLine and the publication and maintenance of the Community Resources Information Service (CRIS) Directory, the CRIS Internet Directory, specialized directories, mailing labels and the Survival Guide.
